In addition, we will stop at Lap An Lagoon, a serene brackish water lagoon where local fishermen cultivate oysters. This picturesque spot offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and calm waters. You can also relax at a lakeside café and enjoy a cup of Vietnamese coffee, known for its rich and bold flavor.
Around 10:30 AM, we will arrive in Hue Imperial City, where you will meet your knowledgeable local guide to begin the Hue City Tour from Da Nang. Your journey starts with a scenic dragon boat ride along the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in central Vietnam, built in 1601. This sacred site is steeped in history and legends, and your guide will share fascinating stories and myths about its spiritual significance.
After visiting Thien Mu Pagoda, we will continue our journey by private car to explore the Imperial Citadel, Royal City, and Forbidden City—the heart of Hue’s history and former political center of the Nguyen Dynasty (1802–1945). Your guide will share fascinating insights into the royal lives of emperors, concubines, and eunuchs as you explore this vast complex, which is divided into three main sections: The Citadel – The outer protective fortress. The Royal City – The administrative and working area for the emperor, civil servants, and military officials. The Forbidden City – The emperor’s private quarters, reserved for him, his concubines, and eunuchs. Since Hue is famous for its exquisite cuisine, we’ll enjoy a delicious local lunch at a traditional restaurant around 12:30 PM, giving you a chance to savor some of the region’s best dishes.
Royal Tomb of Emperor Minh Mang, the second emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. Nestled in the mountains and facing the head of the Perfume River, this tomb is a masterpiece of architecture and natural harmony. As you explore, your guide will share the remarkable story of Emperor Minh Mang and reveal a mysterious secret hidden within his tomb.
The 12th emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. Unlike traditional Vietnamese architecture, this tomb is a unique fusion of Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, French, and Vietnamese influences, making it a true architectural marvel. You will be amazed by the intricate details and craftsmanship, with materials sourced from around the world—cement from France, colorful glass and ceramics from China and Japan—creating breathtaking inlaid decorations. This tomb is considered the pinnacle of imperial artistry, and you’ll find plenty of opportunities to take stunning photos and practice your photography skills.
